Pere Marquette River TRIP
AGES 12-16
june 23-28, 2024
Try a few nights out in the wild and spend your days canoeing down the Pere Marquette River. This river runs through the beautiful Manistee National Forest and is known for its clear water, moderately fast current, trout, steelhead and salmon. We pack light and carry all gear in canoes from site to site, sleeping in a new campsite each of three nights. We will also manage a few miles of hiking on the North Country Trail (the largest of the US National Trail system), which intersects the river.
Enjoy rustic life on the water, incredible wildlife, cooking out, and sleeping in tents. Water will be taken both from campsites and the river, then purified. Campers spend three nights on the riverside and two nights at Skyline. We provide each camper with a waterproof bag to safeguard their belongings on the river. A full packing list will be provided online.
*Campers must have attended Camp Skyline for at least one previous summer session to register for this camp or come in to meet with our Executive Director.

NOcturnal Camp
Ages 10-14
july 28 - August 2
Spend a week under the night sky on the edge of Skyline at Wilderness Camp. Look forward to stargazing, science experiments, stalking night critters and playing games by moonlight with friends. Nocturnal Campers will enjoy two of their daily meals at the Dining Hall. They prepare their late-night meals by firelight.
Lodging is in tents. Campers are welcome to bring their own personal tent or camping hammocks. Campers must be comfortable with the idea of sleeping at odd hours and in some daylight between 2am and 10am.
*Due to the odd waking hours, please inquire if your camper has medical needs that might require extra consideration.
