2017 was a terrific year for Skyline's summer program!

Traditional Camp 1, 2, 3, 4 and MiniCamp

Come outside, unwind and unplug! Find your little cabin in the woods and get ready for some fun with your cabin mates. Choose a major for the week and practice one skill intensively for about an hour a day.  *When you fill out your health form, campers must state their top two choices for a Major (see below). Lodging in Cabins. Check in Sunday at 2pm; check out Friday at 2pm. $525

Mini Camp for first timers

July 9-12

Ages 6-11  (some printed publicity has this age printed incorrectly)

For a slightly shorter overnight experience from Sunday – Wednesday. Join us in the cabins for three nights and experience the adventure of life at camp. Mini Campers join Traditional Camp 1 activities for the four days you are with us. Note: Mini campers also choose a Major  (see below). Check in Sunday at 2pm; check out Wednesday at 5pm. $320

Traditional Campers will have a chance to enjoy these things (and more). Mini campers may miss a few.

Rifle River Expedition

Rifle River Expedition

Ages 12-15  *Campers must have attended Camp Skyline for at least one previous summer session to register for this camp. 

July 16-21

Canoe, kayak and tube down the Rifle River. Carry your packs on the water each day to the next campsite. Enjoy life on the water with new friends, cook out and sleep in tents. Campers will spend Monday through Wednesday nights on the riverside in campgrounds and Sunday and Thursday nights at Skyline. They will be given a waterproof bag to safeguard their belongings at check-in. Check in Sunday at 2pm; check out Friday at 2pm.   $695

Farm to Fork Camp

Farm to Fork Camp

Ages 12-15

July 23-28

 

Spend a week loving your food from farm to fork. Gain practical skills that will last a lifetime. Make new friends, meet new vegetables, work in the camp gardens, care for livestock, visit a local farm, and harvest fruits & vegetables.  Campers will prepare their dinners outdoors using locally harvested produce on campfires and grills. This camp is a great way for teens to unplug and learn the joy of eating seasonally and locally while developing sustainable eating habits. No farm or kitchen experience necessary, but certainly welcomed. Farm to Fork campers will join Traditional campers for breakfasts, lunches, gatherings, pool time and evening activities. Lodging will be in the cabins. Check in Sunday at 2pm; check out Friday at 2pm. $525

Traditional Camp 5, 6

Traditional 5  July 23-28  Ages 7-11

Come outside, unwind and unplug! Find your little cabin in the woods and get ready for fun, new friends and new experiences. Similar to Traditional Camps 1-4, campers this week will lodge in cabins. This week there will be no Majors, but campers will try out many different activities throughout the week, including a free choice activity hour every day. Check in Sunday at 2pm; check out Friday at 2pm. $525

Majors for Traditional Camps 1, 2, 3, 4 and MiniCamp

 

Please look at the Major choices for the week your child is attending camp. This is an opportunity for your child to spend an hour each day doing an activity they have selected.

Please work with your camper to choose a FIRST and SECOND PREFERENCE Major. We will do our best to honor their preferences and give them ONE of their top two.

 

MAJORS - session available for each is shown in parentheses for the majors.

 

Water World (1, Mini, 2, 3, 4)  Canoes, paddle boats, kayaks, catch & release fishing, nets, minnows, pond exploration, sprinklers, wet & wild kickball, water relays, wetness, WATER, ‘nuff said.  

 

BEEP (1, Mini, 2, 3 & 4) Build, Explore, Eat and Play. Build fires and shelters. Explore trails, animal tracks, hidden natural playgrounds and the forest’s treasures. Eat wild food and learn to identify edibles. Play in trees, on hills, on vines and more.

 

Soccer (1, Mini, 2, 3 & 4) Come and play the world’s most popular sport. Soccer skills, drills, games, and scrimmages. Improve your dribbling, shooting, passing, receiving skills, and more.

 

Makerspace (1, Mini, 3) Calling all inventors and imagination-filled campers! Come create something clever in our woodsy Makerspace. Wood, paper, clay, paint, glue, string, rubber bands, sticks, stones, seeds, leaves, and odds &ends. Surprise us all with your creative spirit!

 

Farm & Garden (2, 3, 4)  Beets, carrots, chickens, digging, dirt, garlic, goats, sheep, shovels, sprinklers...and more. Work, eat and play in the camp gardens and farmyard. Harvest & plant food for camp meals. No garden or animal experience required, just open minds and willing hands!

 

Cooking (1) Help wash, peel, & chop garden produce; turn it into healthy meals and snacks for the whole camp. Make your own salads, salad dressing, hummus, fruit roll ups and green popsicles!?! Take home new recipes to cook for your friends and family.

 

Photography (2, 4) Explore camp with a camera and take pictures of friends, animals, insects, plants, trees, colorful gardens and more. Learn about composition and what makes a great shot. Please bring a point & shoot digital camera or a digital SLR if you have one (not a phone); we will have a few extras for those who need one.

Junior Farmers

Junior Farmers

Ages 7-11

July 9-14

Come out and farm with us for the week! Help care for Skyline’s pigs, chicks, chickens, goats, kids, sheep and lambs. Animal time will include feeding, watering, grooming, cleaning, herd health, farm journals, rotational grazing and getting dirty! Garden time will include planting, harvesting, mulching, weeding, composting, seed starting, seed saving, and getting dirty! Junior Farmers will each take home their own mini greens garden and home garden plans…and a goat (just kidding!) Junior farmers will join Traditional campers for meals, gatherings, pool time and evening activities. $525
